The Best Fried Chicken Ever with Chef Laurence Jossel of NOPA (Livestream Benefit for SF New Deal)

LivestreamSan Francisco, CA

Learn to transform a whole raw bird into the crispiest fried chicken ever. NOPA chef and owner Laurence Jossel will show you how he butchers, brines, buttermilk marinates, dredges, and finally fries his free range chickens to get absolutely incredible results. He will demonstrate the simple, straightforward techniques he uses to prepare the juiciest, most tender, crispy, flavor-filled fried chicken. --- Laurence Jossel (San Francisco magazine Best Chef) got into the restaurant business as a teenager, dishwashing, and bussing and waiting tables. Laurence spent time at La Folie and The Dining Room at The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco under Gary Danko, opened Kokkari, Chez Nous, and finally Chow, where he met the partners for NOPA (Top 10 Restaurants). Together with his partners, Laurence has built a neighborhood restaurant that’s making simple, hearty, accessible food with local ingredients and a focus on sustainability. --- The Memorial Day Weekend "Chefstival" brings together over a dozen of the Bay Area's top chefs to host one-of-a-kind interactive cooking classes through ChefsFeed Experiences. Half of all ticket proceeds go directly to the host chefs and their staff, the other half goes to the nonprofit SF New Deal. SF New Deal is a nonprofit that partners with small businesses and community organizations to provide income for workers and meals for neighbors in need. They directly fund restaurants, keeping businesses open, workers employed, and vulnerable people fed.
