- Buon giorno! I'm Brianna, this is Macca, and we are in the absolutely beautiful Sicily, in Italy, where we are going to live, eat, and play, just like Sicilian locals. - We're heading over to the Aeolian Islands, situated just north of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea, where we're gonna be spending some time on the water, searching for some secluded beaches, and seeing what else the islands have to offer. - [Voiceover] Let's do it, let's get out on the water. - We're currently driving to the Port of Milazzo, where we're gonna catch the boat over to Salina. It's gonna be a great little day. - Macca's doing a tip-top job of driving us. - [Voiceover] Just a 90-minute ride from the mainland, the ferry really is the ideal way to travel over to the islands. - [Voiceover] Salina is definitely one of the most beautiful of these islands. It's got these lush, vibrant landscapes, dramatic coastal cliffs, and the most crystal-clear water. - Oh, that's good, isn't it? - Yeah, that's serious. - That'll put hairs on your chest. - Let's go to the beach. - [Voiceover] We can't wait to bask in the island sun and explore all the authentic Italian flavors of this Sicilian beach town. - For lunch, we're having pane consato, which roughly translates, it's basically just food on bread. - [Brianna] This is a great amount of mozzarella. I wanna eat it all. - [Voiceover] After lunch, we found this little beach called "Punta Scario." Walking down, you get this little winding kinda pathway. - [Voiceover] Beautiful views, you can see the whole coastline. - [Voiceover] A mid-afternoon swim is the best way to cool off and enjoy local life, especially when you're in a place as striking as this. - [Voiceover] We were a bit parched after visiting the beach, so we decided to head to this spot to get the best granitas. - It was like flavored ice. - It's like a shaved ice, kinda. - No? No, no! What flavor should I get then? So they didn't have my favorite flavor, but they recommended the lemon. Better be good. - It will be. - Are we following him? - I don' know. - This is where they make it! - Cool. No milk? - That's the shaved ice. - Do you make it? This is it, you, all you? Yeah, you make it all. - Sicilians really do know how to make a seriously delicious ice treat. - We are on a boat to get on Delfino, which looks like a trusty steed, to do some island exploring. - [Voiceover] We're heading over to the island of Lipari, and there's really nothing better than taking a little island cruise to soak up the sun and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. - So this isn't the first time I've driven a boat, did you know that? - I think you drove it in Belize. Where are we headed? - Basically I'm driving over to Lipari. It's beautiful already. - Oh my goodness, this feels so nice. - [Macca] Yeah, it's such a boat day. - [Voiceover] We've landed on Lipari, which is the biggest of the Aeolian Islands. - Yeah, we're pretty starving, so we're gonna go and find somewhere to eat, pronto. - We are about to enter my happy place. - People come here just for this shop, for these little cannolis. - Ah, he's gonna fill it. Right. Yeah, yeah. - I think you're about to get a sugar rush, aren't you? - I'm just gonna be like running through the street. - [Voiceover] Sicily is famous for its local cuisine, and in Lipari, there is no shortage of indulgence around every corner, and in every bite. - [Voiceover] There's so much to see just beyond the main streets, so we decided to rent a scooter, and take the scenic route along the island's winding roads. - [Voiceover] It's gotta be one of the best ways to see the more remote parts of the island, as long as you don't forget to fuel-up. - The Aeolian Islands are just gorgeous, they're definitely a must-stop-at, if you're in Sicily. - [Voiceover] Both here in Lipari, as well as Salina, you really get that small town feel. It's like going back in time and experiencing true Italian heritage at its best. - They have local living, local culture, and they're like a little Sicily within Sicily.
