- That was awesome. I did not expect this to happen. I'm going to need a new shirt, that's for sure. Peace, love and lasers. Ah, thank you. Growing up as a kid, all I wanted to do was stay up all night. I wanted to play video games, I wanted to eat, I wanted to drink. Now, I'm a full grown adult, I have a credit card, and ID, and I'm just going to stay up all night. This place looks good. - Hemingway's cocktail. We limit you to three per night. And he would do five or six of these per day, later in his career, he's got eight of these things. And that shot gun looked awfully good, and he blew his head off. We limit you to three per day for a reason. - That's good though, that does not taste like. - The light bull, seductive, isn't that great? Let's wait about 15 to 20 minutes to see how you feel then. - [Voiceover] So what's a good cigar to go with it? - You tell me, I'm thinking a fine Monte Cristo. Smooth, seductive, you know carry very nicely against that absinthe. The Capone family actually owned this property in 1924. The second and third floor were brothels so people came here from everywhere to partake in our brothels and our opium dens, and everything else. Milwaukee was the city for the longest period of time. There was a rich history of different joints that had brothels. I mean, commerce finds a way, right? - Serious entrepreneurship, that's all I can say. - The Milwaukee is lit right now. I'm going to go to Bad Genie. What the hell is that? - Scorpion, you want? You want to do it, you better know you do. - I mean, I guess, I guess let's do one. Dude I don't like bugs, and least bit, Jamie's going to get me through this. - [Voiceover] Cheers. - Cheers. It is salty, it's like a bug jerky. You want to do one more just to get the night started? - [Voiceover] Ohhhh. - [Voiceover] It's a Milwaukee Dollar Sixty. - Thank you for holding the Waukee, Doug. - [Voiceover] Cheers, we're doing what we can. One sportsman at a time. - We got off on the right foot at Bad Genie. - [Voiceover] So this is the one we're known for, Miltown. It's Usingers bratwurst, sharp cheddar cheese, mushrooms onions, got that American-style potato salad on the side. That one's The Farwell poblano, sauteed onion, pesto-gouda cheese, bacon. - My food boner is on Eiffel Tower mode right now. - [Voiceover] That's The Johnny Utah, Kentucky Bourbon Sausage, pork, barbecue-style with the coleslaw on top. - This thing does not fit in an average person's mouth. Let's get a beer, do you got any you recommend? - You know, we're known for Schlitz. - That's a great way to go, the beer that made Milwaukee famous. - Cheers, welcome to the Brat House. - Milwaukee, here we go. - I love Tiki bars, wherever I can go, it kinda just hearkens me back to the one trip I had to Hawaii. I'm somewhere tropical, in Milwaukee. Find out what's good to drink here. - Light rum, dark rum, pomegranate, grenadine. - Oh, snap, uh. I'm goin' in. Here's what's neat about Milwaukee is I have no idea if I'm in a rough neighborhood, or a good neighborhood. It all blends together. I don't know if it's a good thing, or a bad thing. All-nighter's a battle of attrition. Let's do it. Lecroy, vodka, and you can drink on the move. A bike. It's called a Bubbler. Are we going to do it? - [Voiceover] Yeah. - Purchase. Whoop, card read error. Declined, or Bubbler is ready. I'm going to come back. I found this spot, it's an underground ramen joint. It's called Redlight Ramen, and it's just in the back of a restaurant, it doesn't even open up until that restaurant closes. So, that sounds pretty hype to me. - I always wanted to do a ramen shop, we would come hang out, we'd make ramen, we'd eat and drink and talk. - This kind of feels very intrinsically Milwaukee, you've built this hype up, but you're not charging them for how cool this whole setting is. - We can make Milwaukee a better city and a larger city and make it a beautiful place to live, it's fuckin' awesome. - Ramen time, ah. You don't know how happy this makes me. - But we do, it's the only reason why we do it. - The hype is real. Something to drink. Wolfski's Tavern. Can I get anything local on tap? - Four blocks away. - [Voiceover] Four blocks away they brew that? - Yes, sir. - [Voiceover] There we go. - If you're a Milwaukee, you're real with one another. If you were my kid and I'd have to say son, listen here, I have one lesson to impart on you. Give me half a second to think about it, just take a fuckin' shot. You can pause that, you can take a shot with us. Jagerwiess is the house wine here in Milwaukee. Just enjoy life, that's all I can say. Humphrey Bogart said it best when he said: the whole world is just three drinks behind. - I can get down with that so I need to catch up. Bone. - [Voiceover] Last call. Get the broom out, let's go, come on. - You want me to get the broom out? Let's do the broom. Hey, forget about it, hey. You have to appreciate your night life, man. Forget about it. I'm done. I worked for this, I closed Wolfski's. Uh. - [Voiceover] Where's your jacket? - Hey, yo, forget the jacket. - [Voiceover] Forget about it. - Forget about it. I spent 20 bucks on this jacket, I'm going to keep it. Here we go. This is what's fuckin' cool about Milwaukee. That's one of the coolest bars in town, and I walk outside, house, house, residential, someone sleeping, someone fuckin' their wife of 30 years, someone putting their kid to bed. That was the bar we just walked out of. That's the beauty of Milwaukee. I've been writing about this guy named Dude Foods for years, and he creates the craziest shock food, and he lives here, so, I'm just going to go visit his house and maybe cook something with him. Oh, shit. What's up buddy? - Oh my god, what's up dude. - This is weird. - Come on in. - Thank you, thank you. Oh, shit. Look at this: what? - Hostess came out with these key lime Ghostbuster Twinkies, and they also brought back Ecto Coolers so I figure we bread some of these twinkies in Ecto Cooler, deep fry it, I don't know how good it's going to be. - It's actually not that bad. It's not that good either, but. Uh huh. I immediately regret drinking and deep frying with Nick. - [Nick] In addition to that, I've got some mint custard, because in Wisconsin, we're all about custard. - Oh, Jesus, this is so dope. Ghostbuster Ecto Cooler deep-fried Twinky, mint custard Sunday. - [Nick] This is the internet, this is what happens. - Cheers to everyone doing cool things at night. My last legs, I'm on my very, very, last legs. What is this? What a school let out? What's up? - How're you guys doing? - Good, how are you, what're you guys up to? - [Voiceover] Just going for a walk. - Going for a walk? - Yeah. - What, going for a walk, at this hour? - [Voiceover] Yeah. - A bunch of other people on the same mission as me. - We don't just do night hikes, we do history tours, we do, like building exploration during the day and stuff. - [Voiceover] What's the end goal, where are we. - We're going to make our way to the art museum, and we're going to watch the sun rise over the art museum. For the next 15 minutes, go inside, get coffee, get a snack. - It's like a field trip, they're, they have to stop for snacks, bathroom, get a head count before you can move on to the next point. I've found a group of friends to fit in with. You never know when the sun won't come up. The only way not to end the night is to just keep drinking, before you realize you have a hangover, or before you realize you're tired. - Cheers to that. - Been a good night, but there's one more thing, I have to do in Milwaukee. Please don't poop on me Jimmy. I love drinkin'. I love milk. I love cheese and I love really nice people. I got all of that in Milwaukee.
