Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:

  • For the crust:

  • 6 ounces cooked spaghetti

  • 1/2 cup parmesan, shredded

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • For the sauce:

  • 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

  • 1/2 pounds Italian sausage, removed from casing

  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped

  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Toppings:

  • 1 cup mozzarella

  • Chopped fresh parsley to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the crust: In a large bowl, combine cooked spaghetti, olive oil, parmesan cheese, eggs, and salt and pepper. Spread the mixture across the bottom of a greased pie dish. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of the shredded mozzarella on top of the mixture.

  2. Make the sauce: in a skillet on med-high heat, cook the sausage, beef, onion, and garlic, until the meat is browned. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the marinara sauce, salt, and pepper, until well combined. Cook for another 5 minutes.

  3. Assemble: spread an even layer of sauce over the spaghetti crust. Top with the rest of the mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.

  4. Once cooked, remove from oven and let rest for 8-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with fresh chopped parsley on top.
