Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups cornmeal
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup chopped banana peppers with juice
- ½ cup water
- ¼ stick of butter
- ¼ cup grapeseed oil
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking soda. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, melted butter, and drained peppers.
- Stir in the flour mix with the wet ingredients and add pepper juice. Pour the mixture into an oiled and cornmeal dusted 9-inch pan or cast iron skillet. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes or till golden brown. Cut into squares and serve.
