Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups cornmeal
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ¼ cup chopped banana peppers with juice
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ stick of butter
  • ¼ cup grapeseed oil

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking soda. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, melted butter, and drained peppers.
  3. Stir in the flour mix with the wet ingredients and add pepper juice. Pour the mixture into an oiled and cornmeal dusted 9-inch pan or cast iron skillet. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes or till golden brown. Cut into squares and serve.
