- People swear by these green shakes. They think that it makes your skin glow, your eyes brighter, everything. If nothing else, it's just really good for you, makes you feel really great. So let's make it. First thing we're gonna do is start with the grapefruit. We start with our liquids, so that we have a good base. And then we can incorporate all the greens in there, and it'll all get really nice and mixed up. We're gonna keep the pith on here, because it's actually super nutritious. Your mother's probably been telling you that since you were little. So we're gonna go ahead and put the grapefruit in, along with a cup of water. Just go ahead and liquefy, or whatever your blender says on there. So, stevia sounds like some sort of 80s weight loss drug. But it's actually just an herb that we're gonna use as the sweetener in this smoothie. A word of warning, it's 300 times sweeter than sugar, so a little goes a long way. So now, we're gonna add in a little bit of stevia, not too much. That's just to sweeten it up. Again, it doesn't affect your blood sugar levels. Cinnamon, which just tastes really good, also good for your blood sugar levels. And ginger, which is awesome for immunity and digestion, and basically everything. I try to get ginger in as much as possible, all the time. So now we're just gonna blend these guys up. And now we're gonna get the greens in there. So let's start with the kale. I like to chop it up, especially if you don't have a really strong blender. It's a good little tip to keep your blender from freaking out. And just add a little at a time. It's the healthiest food ever. Nobody's gonna argue with that. Put it in your shake. And add a little more. So, you can see how much it really breaks down in the blender there. We had this huge pile, and now it's all in that little bit of liquid. So now, just to get some more greens in there, we're gonna put some parsley in. I just like the taste of it. You can add any herb you like. And let's blend that. Okay. And, for good measure, let's get some cucumber in there. It's just really hydrating. I just like the taste. It's delicious. So now we've got all our greens in there. It's nice and blended up. Now is a really good time to add some frozen fruit. I'm gonna add blackberries, just because berries are so good for you. So many anti-oxidants. I dropped them all. They're basically ice cubes, but they taste great and they have health benefits. Even if you eat cheeseburgers for the rest of the day, if you've had this shake for breakfast, your body has gotten a giant nutrient boost. And it'll thank you. So drink it.
