Now you can enjoy the sweet, cinnamon-y taste of an apple pie all rolled up in a tortilla.

Caramel Apple Taquitos

Ingredients

  • 2 granny smith apples, chopped

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1 cup water

  • 6 flour tortillas

  • 5 ounces caramel sauce

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.

  2. In a saucepan, add chopped apples, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water. Simmer it down for 15-20 minutes until it becomes a thick apple filling.

  3. In a 9x13 baking dish, mix sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg

  4. Spread a tortilla with caramel sauce and add 1/2 cup of the apple filling. Roll it up and place in the baking dish. Repeat.

  5. Roll the taquitos in the sugar mixture well.

  6. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the taquitos before serving.
