Tiny Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich With Pickles

This tiny hot chicken still packs some major punch.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chopped chicken
  • 1 tablespoon buttermilk
  • 1/2 quail egg
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/8 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 slice white bread, for serving
  • Pickles, for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg and hot sauce. Place flour in a separate bowl.
  2. Heat oil. Dredge chicken in egg mixture, then flour. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Mix spices in small bowl. Stir in 1 teaspoon hot fry oil. Toss chicken in spicy oil.
  4. Serve with white bread and pickles.
