Ingredients

  • 1 tiny slice white bread
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1/2 tiny onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground beef
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground pork
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 1/2 quail egg, whisked
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon flour
  • 2 teaspoons beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon heavy cream
  • Lingonberries, to garnish

Steps

  1. Pour the milk over the bread and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the onion, meat, spices, egg yolk and bread. Stir to combine then form into tiny meatballs.
  3. Add the vegetable oil to a saute pan and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides. Remove from pan.
  4. In the same pan, add butter then stir in flour and broth. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cream. Serve meatballs with gravy and lingonberries.
