Tiny Tiered Red Velvet Cake

Cake is even fancier when it's tiny, especially covered in (a very small amount) of cream cheese frosting.

Tiered Red Velvet Cake


  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons buttermilk
  • 1/2 egg
  • 1/8 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 1/8 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Cream cheese frosting
  • Crushed pecans


  • Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder and pinch of salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the oil, buttermilk, egg, food coloring and white vinegar. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, and pour into 2 greased cake pans. Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes.
  • Frost the cakes with cream cheese frosting and stack them. Garnish with pecans.
