Bar Top Extension

Tia Mowry's Weekend Refresh - "A Living Room Goes from Dark to Damn!"

  • 2 pieces of precut plywood
  • 2x4
  • hinges
  • stain
  • nails
  • hammer
  • screwdriver
  • screws
  • 2x2 precut wood leg

  1. Take one piece of precut plywood and nail the 2x4 along the long side of the plywood. This will create a lip to hold the bar top in place.
  2. Stain all the wood pieces
  3. Screw hinges along bottom of the shorter sides of the plywood. (Apply them so that the plywood folds down) - test that the hinges work before fully securing
  4. From the underside of the counter, screw the new bar top to the counter for extra security.
  5. Slide leg under extension piece to hold the bar top in place
  6. Add a wooden frame under the bar top to hold the leg for added stability
