Menu detail

French 75 and "I've got rhythm" by George Gershwin
Beverage
The French 75 is a wonderful welcome drink to being our evening tasting. The sparkling wine makes it approachable while the brandy lends it complexity and flavor intensity and the sugar rim – a special little treat – really brings the flavors to the front of the palate to round out the drink. Our song, George Gershwin's "I've got rhythm," was published in 1930, coincidentally the same year the Savoy Cocktail book was came out. We want to begin our event with energy and sparkle, and we know that a bit of rhythm can't hurt to get us in the mood for a night of cocktail tasting!
Sidecar and "Night and Day" by Cole Porter
Beverage
The Sidecar is perhaps the most well-known of the brandy cocktails, consisting of Brandy, Cointreau, and lemon juice, and the glass is most often dusted with a rim of sugar. In this drink, we shift our instrument representations around a bit, as we tend to do. We pair this drink with "Night and Day," a well-known song by Cole Porter.
Brandy Old Fashioned
Beverage
Our last drink is utterly decadent and should be saved for special occasions. A Brandy Alexander is truly an equal-parts drink, and we pair it with a song that equal parts classical and jazz. The rich harmonies and suggestive melody are a perfect pairing to this sultry drink. This drink is comprised of Brandy, creme de cacao, cream, and a nutmeg dusting as a garnish. Our song is by a French composer composing in the 1920s, and its suggestive chromaticism and harmonies pair well with the sensuality of this drink. Indulge yourself as we finish our evening together!
