Come join Chef Agustín Gaytán at The Civic Kitchen cooking school as he shares his reverence for the regional cuisines of Mexico in this summer tamales class. These are recipes lightened up for the season, with crisp baby vegetables, gorgeous fiery chiles, & juicy, ripe summer fruits. You will learn to make your own tamales at home, including the masa (dough), fillings & salsas, along with wrapping & cooking methods. These dishes are labors of love, improved when made by many hands working in concert. Class will conclude in gathering around the table to share the fruits of our labor - a tamale feast - paired with wine, beer or something non-alcoholic to drink. Notes: - This is a 4 hour hands-on cooking class. - Please advise us of allergies & other dietary restrictions in advance. - We have aprons, knives, recipe copies & everything else you’ll need. - Please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes & plan to tie your hair back if it is long. The class will begin on time; please be prompt.
