Join Chef Greg Dunmore at this cooking class that dives deep into the world of sesame. From nuanced extra-virgin sesame oils to toasted crunchy seeds to the black sesame paste playing the leading role in your favorite "latte" or ice cream, there's a lot to appreciate about sesame. We will begin this class around the table. Learn about Japanese sesame production, growth, roasting & pressing as you taste a variety of sesame products. Greg will highlight the unique characteristics of each, explaining how & why they'll be deployed in your class recipes. This vegetarian-optional menu includes epic Avocado Toast & a fabulous Hummus for your snack repertoire; dinner-party-worthy Roasted Japanese Sweet Potatoes & Wagyu Beef Oden; Cucumber Salad & Spicy Sesame Noodles to cool down your summer; & craveworthy Black Sesame Fudge (trust us!). Greg will also teach you to make a flatbread easy enough for weeknight cooking. Class will conclude with a shared meal of the dishes you've cooked with your fellow students, served with sake, wine or beer, or something non-alcoholic to drink. Kanpai!
