For chef Agustín Gaytán, Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life. It is a time to honor loved ones with reverent candlelit altars, and with thoughtful, joyfully prepared meals.
Drawing on his formative years spent in the kitchens of San Miguel de Allende, as well as ongoing travels throughout Mexico, chef Agustín will lead this hands-on class in cooking up a menu highlighting some of his favorites: dark & complex Mole Negro, an outstanding seasonal Guacamole made in our molcajete, and Budin de Elote, paying homage to corn's pivotal role in the cuisine.
Before departing, join Agustín and your fellow students at the table, sharing the meal you have cooked together, paired with ice-cold beers, selected wines, and non-alcoholic drinks. Autumnal Pumpkin Flan will sweetly end our time together.
