4 Tiers of Grilled Cheese

4 grilled cheese sandwiches to satisfy EVERY appetite. Which would you choose?

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 ounces cheddar

Steps

  1. Spread the butter over one of each bread slice. Cover the other side with the cheese. Place into a toaster oven and cook for about 2 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup mature cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Taleggio cheese, broken into small pieces
  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 spring onion, finely sliced
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili jam
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Steps

  1. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each of the slices of bread.
  2. Mix the cheeses together and set aside 1/3 cup of it in a small bowl. Mix the remaining cheese with the spring onion and a grind of black pepper. Spread the plain side of the bread slices with chili jam and then sprinkle with the cheese and spring onion mix. Top with the other slice of bread, mayonnaise side facing out again.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and place half of the butter into the pan followed by the sandwich. Sprinkle over half of the cheese you set aside and cook for 2 minutes. Flip over, slide in the remaining butter and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Cook for another 2 minutes on the other side. Flip again and cook for 2 minutes then flip again and cook for another 2 minutes until golden.

  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 4 thin gherkin slices
  • 1/4 stick unsalted butter

  1. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each of the slices of bread.
  2. Mix the cheeses together and then sprinkle half over one slice of bread, mayonnaise side facing outwards. Top with the gherkins and then the remaining cheese. Top with the other slice of bread, mayonnaise side facing out again.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add half of the butter. Place the sandwich into the pan. Cook for 3 minutes on one side then flip over, slide in the remaining butter and cook for 3 minutes on the other side, until the outside is golden and the cheese has melted.

  3. Heat a frying pan over a medium heat and place the sandwich into the pan. Cook for 3 minutes on one side then flip over and cook for 3 minutes on the other side, until the outside is golden and the cheese has melted.
