5 reasons why puff pastry will be your new best friend in the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 1 whole Brie round
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 tablespoons cranberry sauce
- 1 egg, beaten
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Wrap Brie in the center of prosciutto.
- Place the Brie in the center of the puff pastry sheet.
- Put the cranberry sauce on top, then wrap up like a parcel with the surrounding pastry.
- Brush all over with the beaten egg and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
- Allow to sit for 10 minutes before cutting.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, cut in half
- 3.5 ounces pesto
- 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
- 1 egg, beaten
Steps
- Cover one of the puff pastries with the pesto, then sprinkle with most of the cheese.
- Press the second pastry on top and cut into strips.
- Twist each strip four times and transfer onto a lined baking tray.
- Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 8 slices ham
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 1 beaten egg
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a large baking tray with baking paper and set aside.
- Cut the pastry into 4 rectangles. Brush the center of each rectangle with Dijon mustard, then top with the ham slices and cheese slices.
- Fold each pastry up with a braid design and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20 minutes and serve right away.

- Cooked vegetables (peas, leeks, asparagus, etc.)
- 1 medium egg
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 ounces cheddar, grated

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Cut out circles of pasty and use to line 4 tart pans.
- Divide the cooked vegetables among the tins.
- Beat together the egg and cream and pour over each tart pan.
- Sprinkle with cheese, and bake for 15 minutes.

Puff Pastry-Wrapped Burgers
- 4 burgers, uncooked
- 4 slices cheese
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Burger Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon gherkins, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice from the jar
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Salt and pepper

Puff Pastry-Wrapped Burgers
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Cut out 4 circles of puff pastry that are larger then the patties. Place a slice of cheese directly into the middle of the circle, then place the burger on top.
- Brush the surrounding pastry with beaten egg.
- Gather up the pastry around the burger patty and make sure it’s well sealed.
- Turn the burger upside down and place onto a lined baking sheet. Repeat with the other pastry circles, cheese and beef patties.
- Brush all over with the remaining egg and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
Burger Sauce
- Make the dipping sauce by mixing all of the ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Serve each mini burger in a lettuce leaf, with a tomato slice on top, with a drizzle of burger sauce.
