• 1 failed cake (vanilla)
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • Pecan pie filling
  • Pecans, to decorate
  • Whipped cream, to serve


  1. Mix cake crumbs with the melted butter then press into a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Blind bake for 15 minutes, uncover, and then bake uncovered for 10 minutes until the base is set.
  3. Pour in the pecan pie filling, top with pecans and bake for another 30 to 35 minutes.
  4. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.
