Japanese Beef Bowl Remix Recipes

From sushi to a cheesy baked dish, there are many yummy possibilities for Japanese rice and beef.


  • Beef Sushi:
  • 1 serving Beef Bowl
  • 30 grams chili oil
  • 20 grams chopped scallions
  • 1 sheet nori
  • Beef Gratin:
  • 1 serving Beef Bowl
  • 2 packets beni shoga (pickled ginger)
  • 40 grams shredded cheese
  • Mayonnaise
  • Chopped scallions
  • 1 egg


  1. Combine the beef mixture with chili oil and scallions and mix to combine.
  2. Transfer rice on top of the nori sheet and spread evenly.
  3. Spread the beef mixture on top of the rice.
  4. Roll up into a sushi roll. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  5. Cut into bite-sized pieces and serve with pickled ginger.
  6. To make the gratin, add in pickled ginger to the beef bowl and mix well to combined.
  7. Transfer mixture to an individual casserole dish. Top with mayonnaise, shredded cheese and one egg.
  8. Bake under the broiler until cheese has melted and egg is done to your liking.
