Make your fave ice cream a little edgier with yummy homemade charcoal ice cream cones.

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon edible activated charcoal
  • Pinch salt

  1. Beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until frothy. Add the buttermilk and vanilla extract and mix until combined. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, charcoal, and salt. Add to the batter and mix until combined.
  2. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter onto a waffle cone maker and cook for one minute. Roll it into a cone and keep on the cone shaping-tool until cool and stiffened, about 1 minute. Repeat with the remaining batter.
