Rip off a chewy piece of bread pie with ham and warm melted cheese rolled into every bite.
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon olive oil
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk
Pinch of sugar
2 cups flour
Pinch of salt
10 ounces creamy Brazilian cheese
1 3/4 cups mozzarella cheese
7 ounces ham, chopped
1 teaspoon oregano
1 egg yolk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, add yeast, olive oil, water, milk and a pinch of sugar. Stir to combine. Add flour and salt. Mix to form dough. Cover bowl with a clean kitchen towel and set aside to let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the creamy Brazilian cheese, mozzarella, chopped ham and oregano. Set aside.
Place the dough on a floured surface, and knead by hand. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin, and cut out circles approximately 2 inches in diameter.
Top each circle with a mixture of ham and cheese, then fold it in half and half again.
Place them side by side in a circular baking dish, and brush with egg.
Place in oven for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown.
