Doritos-Crusted Chicken Strips with Guacamole

Elevate your average nugget game with fried-to-perfection Doritos-crusted chicken strips with a side of guac.


  • 3 avocados
  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Brazilian aji pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1, 10 1/2-ounce bag Doritos
  • 1 chicken breast, cut into strips
  • Salt
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon spicy paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • Frying oil


  1. Cut the avocados, remove the pit (do not discard), remove the peel and chop into cubes.
  2. Arrange the chopped avocados in a bowl and add the onion, tomatoes, pepper, cilantro and juice of half a lime. Mix thoroughly, salt to taste, and set aside in the refrigerator. (Tip: Store the guacamole with the core inside to stop avocado from becoming dark.)
  3. Into a blender or food processor, add the Doritos. Crush into smaller pieces.
  4. Season the chicken with salt.
  5. In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika and onion powder.
  6. Dip the chicken pieces in wheat flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally the crushed Doritos.
  7. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy.
  8. Drain on paper towels. Serve with guacamole.
