Ingredients

Double Chocolate Chip Cake

  • 2 c AP Flour
  • 1 c cocoa powder
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 ½ t baking powder
  • ¾ t cinnamon
  • ½ t salt
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 6 eggs, room temp
  • ½ c coffee
  • 3t vanilla
  • 1 ½ c sour cream
  • ½ c vegetable oil
  • 1 c mini chocolate chips, coat in flour

Frosting

  • 1 c unsalted butter
  • 2 c powdered sugar
  • 1T vanilla

Steps

Double Chocolate Chip Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. In a large bowl whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt
  3. In a mixer add eggs, coffee, vegetable oil, vanilla extract and sour cream.
  4. Add dry mix one cup at a time until well incorporated.
  5. Coat chocolate chips with flour & fold into batter.
  6. Prepare 2-6” pans and 2-8” with baking spray & parchment paper circles.
  7. Bake cake for 20-30 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Once cakes are cooled frost and enjoy.

Frosting

  1. In a clean mixer bowl cream butter and add vanilla until well blended.
  2. Add powdered sugar in one cup at a time.
