Mocha French Toast

Stuffed with chocolate and soaked in coffee and liqueur, this is the ultimate French toast.


  • 2 teaspoons of instant coffee
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons of heated milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 dash of orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 thick slice of bread
  • 1 bar of chocolate, broken in half
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • For garnish:
  • Whipped cream
  • Unsweetened cocoa
  • Confectioners' sugar
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Sliced almonds


  1. Combine the instant coffee and sugar with warm milk. Mix well.
  2. Add in liqueur and beaten egg.
  3. Make a slit in the middle of the bread and insert chocolate bar.
  4. Dip bread into liquid mixture and make sure to soak well.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook both sides until a golden brown texture is achieved.
  6. Transfer the toast to a plate and top with whipped cream, cocoa, confectioners' sugar, chocolate syrup, and sliced almonds.
