Caramel Macchiato Tart
We took a Starbucks fave & turned it into a tart.
Ingredients
- 2 boxes shortbread cookies
- ¼ cup butter
- Whipped cream
- Caramel sauce
- Caramel coffee pudding batter:
- 3 tablespoons milk and coffee
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 3 tablespoons hot water
Steps
- Grate the shortbread cookies into a bowl.
- Mix in the butter.
- Place the tart shell dough into a tart pan lined with parchment paper.
- Heat the sugar and cold water in a pot over medium heat.
- When the mixture simmers and turns brown, mix in the hot water (this is the caramel).
- *It may splatter a little, so be careful not to burn yourself.
- Mix the milk and coffee and eggs into the caramel.
- Pour into the tart shell and bake in a water bath for 30 minutes at 340 degrees.
- Chill in the refrigerator to set for 1 hour.
- Remove from the pan and top with whipped cream and caramel sauce to taste.
