Lil' pockets of flavorful beef, cheese, and pure joy. Happy snacking!
Ingredients
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced longways
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 pound ground beef or ribeye, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper
- 4 medium flour tortillas, cut in half
- 4 slices provolone cheese, cut in half or quarters
- Flour slurry: 1/4 cup flour plus 1/4 cup water
- Cheese Whiz, for topping
- Hot sauce, for dipping
Steps
- In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, preheat frying oil to 360 degrees.
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and peppers until soft and tender, about 5 to 8 minutes.
- Add ground beef, salt and pepper and cook until beef has browned.
- Use back of spoon to break beef into small crumbles.
- Allow mixture to cool before filling tortillas.
- Halve the tortillas if you haven't already.
- Brush half of the halved tortillas with flour slurry and fold into a triangle shape.
- Press firmly.
- Place a small piece of provolone in the triangle followed by a few tablespoons of the beef filling.
- Brush inside of exposed tortilla with more slurry.
- Tightly pinch together. You should now have a little triangle pocket.
- Carefully place samosa into hot oil and fry on each side for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve with Cheese Whiz and hot sauce. Enjoy!
