Sure, you can serve a cheese plate, but why not make it a cheese table filled with an assortment of cheesy appetizers.

Parmesan Crisps


  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet tray with a silicone baking mat.

  2. Grate a heaping tablespoon of Parmesan onto the prepared baking sheet and lightly pat it down. Leave about 1 inch of space between each crisp.

  3. Bake for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden and crisp. Cool before serving.

Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket


  • 1 (8-ounce) can original crescent dough

  • 2 to 3 ounces sliced Gruyere

  • 20 cocktail franks

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • Flaky sea salt

  • Dijon mustard, for serving


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cut each triangle of crescent roll dough into thirds lengthwise, making 3 thin strips from each roll.

  3. Place one slice cheese on the larger end of the dough. Place a cocktail frank on the cheese and roll up.

  4. Arrange pigs, seam side down, on baking sheet. Combine egg and milk in small bowl. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt. Bake until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Serve with Dijon mustard.

Mini Brie en Croute


  • 12 mini rounds wheel Brie

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed in the refrigerator

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • Raspberry jam, for serving


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper.

  2. Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Roll the sheet of puff pastry out to 12x15 inches, and cut out 12 squares. Brush edges of squares with egg wash. Add a Brie wheel in the center of each. Twist puff pastry up around it, bringing all 4 corners to the top to meet. Twist to secure. Brush outside with egg wash and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

  3. Place on prepared baking sheet, and bake until golden and puffed, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with crackers and jam.

Devils on Horseback


  • 12 large, pitted dates

  • Firm blue cheese, cubed

  • 6 slices bacon, halved

  • Smoked paprika, for sprinkling


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  2. Place a cube of cheese into each date. Wrap with bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on prepared sheet tray and sprinkle with smoked paprika.

  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until bacon is crisp.

Cheeseball Wreath


  • 3 (8-ounce) blocks cream cheese, just softened

  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 bunches chives, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup finely chopped dried cranberries

  • Roasted red pepper, for bow


  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, add cream cheese, cheddar and garlic powder. Mix until blended.

  2. Add chives and cranberries to their own individual bowls.

  3. Roll cream cheese mixture into 1-inch balls, and roll each ball through chives then form into a wreath.

  4. Roll 4 1/2-inch balls for the ornaments, and roll through the cranberries. Place ornaments on top of wreath. Garnish with a red pepper bow.

  5. Can be served immediately or chilled before serving. Serve with crackers.
