Cheese-Stuffed Indian Flatbread

If you're a fan of quesadillas, you'll want to give these a shot.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup water, or more to form dough

Filling

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar
  • 1/2 cup white onion, minced
  • 1 Thai green chili, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped

Steps

Dough

  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, salt and oil.
  2. Gradually add water until a soft and slightly sticky dough forms. Set aside to rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Pinch golf-ball-sized pieces of dough and gently press to flatten.
  4. Fill with 1-2 tablespoons of cheese mixture, and bring in all sides of the dough to close.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out to flatten.
  6. Heat a frying pan on medium-high heat.
  7. Place dough in pan, and cook for 30-45 seconds per side, until slightly charred. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
  8. Cut into fours to serve.

  1. Combine all filling ingredients and set aside.
