Chicken Torte With Cream Cheese

Think of this torte as a kind of fancy pizza... with shredded chicken instead of sauce.


  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 10 ounces chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup white flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese


  1. In a frying pan, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil, and add the shredded chicken.
  2. Add the tomato and tomato sauce, and season with salt, pepper and oregano. Set aside.
  3. In a blender, mix the egg, milk, olive oil, flour, cornstarch and a pinch of salt.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and gently stir in the yeast.
  5. Heat a frying pan greased with olive oil over medium heat.
  6. Pour the dough mix into the pan. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  7. Spread the shredded chicken/tomato sauce mixture over dough, sprinkle the cheese and spoon the cream cheese onto the torte. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
