Chicken Torte With Cream Cheese
Think of this torte as a kind of fancy pizza... with shredded chicken instead of sauce.
Ingredients
- Olive oil
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 10 ounces chicken breast, cooked and shredded
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup white flour
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
Steps
- In a frying pan, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil, and add the shredded chicken.
- Add the tomato and tomato sauce, and season with salt, pepper and oregano.
- Set aside.
- In a blender, mix the egg, milk, olive oil, flour, cornstarch and a pinch of salt.
- Transfer to a bowl and gently stir in the yeast.
- Heat a frying pan greased with olive oil over medium heat.
- Pour the dough mix into the pan. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Spread the shredded chicken/tomato sauce mixture over dough, sprinkle the cheese and spoon the cream cheese onto the torte.
- Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
