Chocolate and Strawberry Roll

The timeless combination of strawberries, cream and chocolate are literally rolled together into one delicious dessert.


  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3/4 cup flour, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • Vanilla extract as needed
  • 14 ounces strawberries, sliced
  • 7 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted


  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and grease the parchment with butter.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the eggs, sugar and honey together. Add the flour and cocoa, and beat until just combined.
  3. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and use a spatula to spread out evenly.
  4. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  7. Lay out chocolate roll onto a work surface. Spread with whipped cream and top with strawberries. Roll up to form a log. Drizzle with melted chocolate and cocoa powder.
