Chocolate Mousse

Few chocolate desserts are as satisfying as a delightfully light and fluffy classic mousse.


  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 eggs, yolks and whites separated
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish


  1. Beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  2. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until a clear and fluffy mixture forms. Add the melted chocolate and stir well. Stir in the whipped cream, then gently add the whipped egg whites.
  3. Portion into bowls and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving, garnished with chocolate shavings.
