Chocolate Strawberry and Meringue Trifle

Layered chocolate, mousse, biscuits, strawberries and meringue makes this an easy yet elegant-looking dessert!


  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1 pack of meringues, chopped
  • 2 cups strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup Maizena biscuits, crumbed


  1. In a blender, add milk, cocoa, sugar, cornstarch and butter. Blend until well combined.
  2. Transfer mixture to a pan over low heat. Stir until thickened and creamy. Allow to cool.
  3. Prepare the whipped cream. With a mixer, beat the fresh cream with the sugar until a thick cream forms. Set aside.
  4. To each trifle cup, add a base layer of whipped cream, followed by chopped strawberries and the crushed biscuits. Add a layer of the chocolate sauce, then top with whipped cream and meringues.
