Puff some holiday spirit with these light, crispy cigars are filled with a delicious peppermint cream cheese filling.

Christmas Cigars


  • Batter:

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled

  • 3 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • red and green food coloring

  • Filling:

  • 125g cream cheese, room temperature

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 ¼ cups confectioner’s sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

  • Christmas sprinkles


  1. Make the cigars:

  2. Beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until frothy. Add the butter, milk and vanilla extract and mix until combined. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add to the batter and mix until combined. Divide the batter into 2 bowls and dye them red and green. Pour into containers with easy pour spouts.

  3. Swirl both colors of batter onto a waffle cone maker and cook for one minute. Roll it into a cigar shape and hold with tongs until stiffened, about 1 minute. Repeat with the remaining batter.

  4. Make the filling:

  5. Beat the cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract, peppermint extract and confectioner’s sugar and beat until combined.

  6. Place in a piping bag fitted with a round piping tip.

  7. Pipe the filling into the cigar and sprinkle Christmas sprinkles on the ends. Enjoy!
