Cookie Jenga

This traditional family game just became an incredibly edible experience.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Edible black marker

  1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one a time, mixing after each addition. Mix in almond extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet in two additions. Divide dough in half, and wrap each half in plastic wrap. Refrigerate cookie dough for at least 20 min in refrigerator or until firm. Preheat oven to 350˚F.
  2. Generously flour work surface, and roll out cookie dough until about 1/2 ' thick. Cut out rectangles 2.5' long and .75' wide and transfer to a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Place in the fridge for 10-15 minutes before baking to ensure they hold their shape. Bake for 9-11min or until edges are golden brown.
  3. Let cool completely before writing party activities on each one using the edible marker.
