Crispy Cheese Garlic Toast

Sure, this piles on the garlic, butter and cheese, but can we talk about that crunch at the end?

  • 1 baguette loaf
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy paste
  • 5 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • Chopped parsley

  1. Combine melted butter, olive oil, anchovy paste and garlic, and mix well.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  3. Slice baguette into 1/4-inch thickness.
  4. Spread anchovy garlic sauce on top of the bread, and bake until slightly crispy and golden brown.
  5. Place mounds of shredded cheese in a frying pan and cook until melted. Place garlic toast on top of the cheese.
  6. Turn off heat. Once the cheese has hardened a bit, transfer to a plate and serve.
