- Good morning, good afternoon, good evening wherever you are, beautiful creatures. Today I am taking you to a place which, dare I say, has the world's best Middle Eastern pastry. Let's get in there. Alright, so here's the story. Two brothers from Aleppo, Syria learned how to bake and create pastries from their grandfather. Now, their grandfather owned a bakery there called Crown Pastries, and the boys were so passionate about what they were learning that they decided to open one of their own. Now, flash forward to 2009, the boys have now moved to Toronto, opened a Crown Pastries of their own, and are bringing baklava bliss to us Torontonians. Everything here is made from scratch and I mean literally made from scratch. So, from the dough to the syrup to the cheese, it's all here in the back. So, this bakery offers tons of different kinds of pastries that use a variety of nuts and their homemade filo dough. Now, if you're worried that they'll all taste the same, don't. They are completely different. Different flavors, something unique to try in each bite. Alright, so from start to finish, we have to watch how this was made and I have a plethora of options in front of me, but the first thing I'm gonna go for and try is their original baklava because, fun fact, I have never had baklava before. So, I'm startin' off with the world's greatest. Oh my God. You guys, it's so bad. I'm just kidding, this is incredible. It's really crunchy, very very fresh. Those layers are incredible. That is amazing. Well done. Should I go for your invention? There's no name for this one yet, right? The chef's special. This is filo dough. Inside is a filling that is a secret recipe. Mm! Oh my gosh, that's even crispier than the first one. That filling is everything. That's my new favorite thing. Should I leave some for you, cameraman? Or no, can I eat this all? I dare say I think that one I like better than the traditional. Alright, and for this final one, the one I am really excited about, is this one. It is a little bird's nest and it looks just like it. I took such a big bite and I don't regret it. What do you call a Middle Eastern Chewbacca? Chew-baklava. Wow, that was... That was such an icnredible, incredible experience. Oh my God, baklava. That is my new thing now. That's gonna be my new favorite dessert. Anyway, thank you guys so much for watching. I gotta get in the car 'cause it is freaking freezing. I hope you enjoyed this video and I will see you next time.
