Crunchy S'mores French Toast
Graham cracker and corn flake-battered brioche gets layered with gooey marshmallows, milk chocolate and syrup.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup cornflakes, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 8 slices brioche or challah bread
- 2 milk chocolate bars, broken into pieces
- 12 large marshmallows, cut in half
- Chocolate sauce and mini marshmallows, for serving
Steps
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter and canola oil.
- In a shallow bowl or pie plate, combine graham cracker crumbs, cornflakes and cinnamon.
- In a separate shallow dish, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, milk, salt and vanilla.
- Dip each slice of brioche into egg mixture, then press each side into graham cracker and cornflake mixture.
- Cook until brown and crispy, about 3 minutes per side.
- While still warm, stack the slices of French toast in pairs, layering chocolate and marshmallows in between.
- Top with mini marshmallows, drizzle with chocolate syrup and serve.
