- The holidays are near, and that means it's time to cook up some delicious smelling potpourri. I smell the holidays. I'm gonna show you my three favorite DIY stove top potpourri mixes. The first one is a spiced orange mix. All you have to do is slice an orange, throw it into a pot of water, along with some fresh cranberries, whole cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Bring it to a boil and then let it simmer for as long as you'd like. With all of these stove top potpourris, you wanna make sure not to let the water evaporate fully, 'cause then you'll burn your pot. So just refill it with water every time you want the smell to perfume. Your house. I really love this mix, because it reminds me of holiday food. It makes you tingle in the heart. And all over the place. Next up, the slice of pie. Take an apple and slice it in half. Then take some fresh ginger and cut several slices. Then throw 'em in a pot of water. Add some really nice star anise and a cinnamon stick. And that's it, it's a piece a cake. I mean a slice of pie. And the last one, the lemon and chill. Slice up one whole lemon. Throw that in a pot of water along with fresh rosemary sprigs, some yummy vanilla extract. If you're feelin' baller, then add a whole vanilla bean. I don't even have that shit so I just use extract. And for a floral note, add some cardamom pods. This one's great if you're havin' a hard day. You just sit back, take a big whiff, and chill theout. A pot of water is your blank canvas for whatever you want to add to it, so be creative with your mixes, and your nose is gonna thank you later. I know mine is. I'll see you next time. Remember to just smell life. Bye.
