Easy Beef Stew in a Bread Bowl

  • 2 round-shaped crusty bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 30 grams shredded cheese
  • Beef stew:
  • 20 grams thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 small potato
  • 1/6 onion
  • 1 mushroom
  • 4 tablespoons demi glace sauce
  • 80 milliliters water
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 1 teaspoon ketchup
  • Pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • Garnish:
  • Baby greens
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Italian parsley


  1. Cut meat into bite-sized pieces and potatoes into small cubes. Slice the mushrooms and onion thinly.
  2. Cut off the very top of the bread and scoop out the insides with a spoon.
  3. Heat some butter in a saucepan. Then add in beef and onions and saute until onions are translucent. Add potato and mushroom pieces and saute for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add in demi glace sauce, water, red wine, ketchup and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour mixture into bread bowls and top with shredded cheese and egg. Bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees C.
  6. Garnish with baby greens, cherry tomatoes and Italian parsley.
