Ocean Roach Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

  • For the biscuits:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
  • For the topping:
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne.
  3. In a separate bowl, add buttermilk and butter and gently combine without over mixing. Fold in cheddar just until combined.
  4. Scoop biscuits with a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
  5. While biscuits are baking, combine melted butter, parsley and garlic powder in a small bowl.
  6. Remove biscuits from the oven and brush with topping mixture. Serve warm.
