- 1 (750 ml) bottle red wine
- 1 orange, sliced into rounds, plus more for garnish
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise, plus more for garnish
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Heat on medium-high heat on a low simmer for 15 minutes and up to 3 hours, making sure not to boil the contents. Remove from heat and strain. Serve warm topped with desired ingredients.
