For the sauce:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 pinch red chili flakes
1/4 cup vodka
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup jarred marinara sauce
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
For the garlic twists:
1 pound store-bought pizza dough
4 garlic cloves
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 bunch basil
Preheat oven to 375°F.
For the garlic twists, smash garlic cloves, and combine with oil and basil in a small pot. Heat to infuse, about 15 minutes.
Roll out pizza dough into 7-inch thin strips. Braid or twist together as you like. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and lay your twists down, with an inch between each twist. Use a pastry brush to coat with infused oil. Bake in oven until golden, approx 10 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool, or serve warm.
In a large sauté pan, heat butter and oil. Add garlic and chili flakes and cook on low heat for about a minute to allow flavors to infuse. Increase the heat to medium-high and carefully add vodka. (It will probably flame!) Let alcohol cook off for about a minute, decrease heat to medium low and add heavy cream. Let simmer for another minute and stir in marinara sauce. Stir until combined and add Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To finish, pour sauce into bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and top with more Parmesan and fresh black pepper.

- Today, we're gonna be making the greatest vodka sauce ever, so why use it with pasta? Let's just shove it straight into our faces with these awesome garlic twists. First thing we need to do is infuse our oil. So, we've got our pot. We're gonna smash some garlic cloves, just with the heel of your hand, straight into the pot. Grab a little bit of basil, that's gonna go in. Just tear up the leaves and add some olive oil. All right, we're just gonna stick that on low heat, just to infuse, low heat. All right, now for the actual twists, we've got our pizza dough, a little bit of flour, just so it doesn't stick to the board, and we're gonna roll this out. Add a little more flour so it doesn't stick to the rolling pin. And, you want it to be about the thickness of a pizza crust, nice and thin, and we'll cut this into strips. Just get off the round end, there. And, you can do this in any shape you like. So, what we'll do with each strip is, we're gonna turn it into pants, so we'll just cut from the top, not all the way at the top, but all the way down to the bottom, so you get little pants and we're gonna twist each pant leg up, just like that, a little twist and then we're gonna twist 'em together. And, again, you do braids, you can do other sorts of twists, you can do little garlic knots, if you like. All right, so once you've twisted it up, we're gonna put it on a sheet try with some parchment paper. Stick that there and you transfer them to the sheet tray, with about an inch in between them. My Jewish grandma would not be proud of my twisting skills. So now, we're gonna brush our twists with the infused oil to turn them into Basil Garlic Twists, all that flavor in there from the basil and the garlic, getting the oil in all those little nooks and crannies. And, we'll pop these in the oven. All right, now that these are out of the oven and beautiful and golden, we're gonna set them aside to cool while we make our vodka sauce. We've got our pan over a medium heat and we're gonna add our butter and some olive oil and a little bit of red chili flake. You can add as much as you like, depending on how spicy you like it. Use our Microplane to mince our garlic. Right into the pan and we're gonna cook that. Sweat down the garlic a little bit. You don't want your heat too high or you're gonna burn the garlic. Nobody likes burned garlic. All right, now we're gonna add our vodka. You're gonna be very careful 'cause this is going to be fire. So, we add our vodka, turn our heat up a bit and it flames. Yay! And, that's gonna cook off all the alcohol for you. Yay, flame! All right, to finish the sauce, we're gonna add our cream and we're gonna let that cook for a minute and, as you can see, the oil's separating a bit, but as we bring it to a simmer, it's gonna come back together. We're gonna add our marinara sauce, give it that nice pink vodka sauce color. Gonna finish it with some cheese, some Parmesan cheese. So, some salt, some freshly ground black pepper, stir that together. So, the vodka sauce just goes straight into the bowl and we're gonna finish our sauce with some Parmesan cheese, a little drizzle of olive oil and a little sprig of basil.
