Made with thick-cut toast, molasses and spices, gingerbread French toast just might be the perfect festive breakfast.
1 Loaf of unsliced Texas Toast, Brioche or Italian Bread
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Molasses
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
1/2 cup Milk
4 tbsp Butter
Optional Whipped Cream & Maple Syrup
Add the sugar, molasses, spices, eggs and milk in a blender and mix until smooth. Pre-heat a non-stick pan over medium and melt in the butter.
Slice the bread into 1 inch thick pieces and soak each piece, one at a time for 15 seconds each side. Place the bread on the pan and cook each side until golden and firm. Roughly 3 minutes each side.
Repeat process with remaining slices of bread and top with whipped cream, maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
