Gingerbread French Toast
Made with thick-cut toast, molasses and spices, gingerbread French toast just might be the perfect festive breakfast.
Ingredients
- 1 Loaf of unsliced Texas Toast, Brioche or Italian Bread
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 4 tbsp Butter
- Optional Whipped Cream & Maple Syrup
Steps
- Add the sugar, molasses, spices, eggs and milk in a blender and mix until smooth.
- Pre-heat a non-stick pan over medium and melt in the butter.
- Slice the bread into 1 inch thick pieces and soak each piece, one at a time for 15 seconds each side.
- Place the bread on the pan and cook each side until golden and firm. Roughly 3 minutes each side.
- Repeat process with remaining slices of bread and top with whipped cream, maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
