Heart of Palm Pie

You'll hold a special place in your heart for these mini cheesy pies.

Ingredients

  • 8.8 ounces flour
  • 7 ounces cold unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons of water
  • 3 1/2 ounces chopped hearts of palm
  • 7 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 1/2 ounces grated mozzarella cheese
  • Salt
  • 1 beaten egg

Steps

  1. Place the flour in a bowl and add the butter cut into small cubes.
  2. Knead with your fingertips until it forms a paste.
  3. Add salt.
  4. Gradually add water to obtain the desired consistency. Cool for 1 hour.
  5. In a bowl, add the cabbage, cottage cheese, the mozzarella cheese and a pinch of salt. Mix and set aside.
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces according to the size of the molds to be used.
  7. With the aid of a rolling pin, open the dough on a smooth and floured surface.
  8. Arrange the dough in greased mold, add a portion of filling, cover the top with dough, close the sides carefully.
  9. Brush with a beaten egg.
  10. Make a cut in the top of the pie to let the steam exit.
  11. Bake in an oven, preheated to 350°F for 30 minutes.
