Holiday Popcorn

Turn ordinary popcorn into a festive treat with just a few sweet ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of unpopped popcorn kernels (15 cups of popcorn)
  • 2 teaspoons of canola oil
  • 1 (8 ounces) bar white chocolate
  • Pinch of Maldon salt
  • 1/2 cup candy canes, crushed

Steps

  1. Melt white chocolate in a microwave. Pour over popcorn and toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle sea salt and ground candy canes and mix some more.
  2. Spread the popcorn out on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let the chocolate set. Enjoy!

  • 2 teaspoons of canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/2 tablespoon water
  • Pinch of maldon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps

  1. In a small mixing bowl, sift together baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized saucepan, cook butter, sugar, molasses, water and salt until it reaches 305°F. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and spice mix.
  3. Pour sugar mixture over popcorn and toss to evenly coat. Spread the popcorn out on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let the popcorn cool and sugar set. Enjoy!

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (8 ounces) bar white chocolate
  • 1 heaping cup of mini marshmallows

Steps

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine unsweetened cocoa powder, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
  2. Melt white chocolate and pour over popcorn; toss to evenly coat. Dust with cocoa spice mix, add in mini marshmallows and mix some more.
  3. Spread the popcorn out on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let the chocolate set. Enjoy!
