How to make homemade Carnival Corn Dogs with Julie and Jen.

Ingredients

Corn Dogs

  • 8 all beef hot dogs
  • Skewers

Corn Dog Batter Mix

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cornmeal
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 milk

Ketchup

  • Vegetable oil
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Red wine vinegar
  • Honey
  • Water
  • 2 cloves roasted garlic

Mayo

  • Mayo
  • Fleur de sel
  • Dried basil
  • Dried oregano

Mustard

  • Grainy mustard
  • Maple syrup

Steps

Corn Dogs

  1. Skewer each of the hot dogs.
  2. Preheat a pot of vegetable oil to 350F.
  3. Dip each dog into the batter to coat and then lower into the oil. Remove when golden brown.

Corn Dog Batter Mix

  1. Have all the dry ingredients for the batter together.
  2. Add eggs and milk and whisk until lump free.

Ketchup

  1. Add sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, red wine vinegar, honey, and water to a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth.

Mayo

  1. Mix basil, oregano, and salt into the mayo.

Mustard

  1. Combine mustard and maple syrup.
