• 6 hot dogs
  • 2 pie crust sheets
  • Egg wash
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Genovese sauce
  • 1 egg yolk

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Lay out a pie crust and place a hot dog diagonally in each corner.
  3. Roll the dough around each hot dog, until all four hot dogs meet, forming a square.
  4. Cut 3 slits into each hot dog then rotate hot dog sections so that the cut ends are facing inwards.
  5. Lay out the other pie crust and place the remaining 2 hot dogs at the bottom.
  6. Roll up the hot dogs inside the crust, then use a knife to cut into 8 pieces.
  7. Place these pieces on top of the already formed hot dog pie, adding another layer of hot dogs. Brush with egg wash.
  8. Place an oven-safe bowl in the center of the pie and fill with shredded cheese.
  9. Dollop the Genovese sauce over the top, then bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven and immediately top melted cheese bowl with egg yolk.
