Four new easy ways to enjoy hummus.
Ingredients
- 1 15-ounce can no-salt-added black beans
- 1/2 small jalapeño pepper, seeded (plus more for topping)
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, plus more for topping
- 2 tablespoon tahini
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 garlic clove
- Optional topping: cotija cheese
Steps
- Add ingredients to the food processor and process until very smooth.
- Top with cilantro, sliced jalapeño, and cottage cheese.

- 1 large head garlic, roasted
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 15-ounce can chickpeas
- 3 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon tahini
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- Garnish with fresh parsley and more olive oil
Steps
- To roast garlic, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut tips off top of garlic head with serrated knife to expose garlic cloves.
- Lay root side down on a sheet of aluminum foil.
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons oil over the cut end of the garlic.
- Crimp foil closed or cover the baking dish with foil.
- Roast until garlic is soft and fragrant, about 45 - 60 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool enough to handle.
- Add the ingredients to a food processor and puree until completely smooth, about 1 minute.
- Serve sprinkled with parsley and drizzled with more olive oil, if desired.

- 1 1/2 cups beets, cubed (approx. 4 medium beets)
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon tahini
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Garnish with crumbled feta and fresh parsley

- To cook the beets, place the beets in a small saucepan, and cover with water.
- Cover and bring water to boil over high heat.
- Simmer, covered, for 10-12 minutes, until the beets are tender.
- Drain and let cool.
- Add all ingredients into a food processor. Process until very smooth.
- Top with crumbled feta and fresh parsley.

- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup ice water
- Pita bread or chips, for serving
- Garnish with sliced avocado, chickpeas, and/or red pepper flakes
Steps
- Add avocados, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt, pepper to a food processor.
- Puree until the chickpeas break down and the mixture starts to mix together.
- Scrape down the sides of the processor using a spatula, if needed.
- Add ice water as needed to make more smooth.
- Top with additional sliced avocados, chickpeas, and red pepper flakes, if desired.
