Four new easy ways to enjoy hummus.

Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce can no-salt-added black beans
  • 1/2 small jalapeño pepper, seeded (plus more for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, plus more for topping
  • 2 tablespoon tahini
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Optional topping: cotija cheese

Steps

  1. Add ingredients to the food processor and process until very smooth.
  2. Top with cilantro, sliced jalapeño, and cottage cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 large head garlic, roasted
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 15-ounce can chickpeas
  • 3 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and more olive oil

Steps

  1. To roast garlic, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut tips off top of garlic head with serrated knife to expose garlic cloves.
  3. Lay root side down on a sheet of aluminum foil.
  4. Drizzle 2 tablespoons oil over the cut end of the garlic.
  5. Crimp foil closed or cover the baking dish with foil.
  6. Roast until garlic is soft and fragrant, about 45 - 60 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool enough to handle.
  7. Add the ingredients to a food processor and puree until completely smooth, about 1 minute.
  8. Serve sprinkled with parsley and drizzled with more olive oil, if desired.

  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 1 1/2 cups beets, cubed (approx. 4 medium beets)
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Garnish with crumbled feta and fresh parsley

Steps

  1. To cook the beets, place the beets in a small saucepan, and cover with water.
  2. Cover and bring water to boil over high heat.
  3. Simmer, covered, for 10-12 minutes, until the beets are tender.
  4. Drain and let cool.
  5. Add all ingredients into a food processor. Process until very smooth.
  6. Top with crumbled feta and fresh parsley.

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • Pita bread or chips, for serving
  • Garnish with sliced avocado, chickpeas, and/or red pepper flakes

Steps

  1. Add avocados, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt, pepper to a food processor.
  2. Puree until the chickpeas break down and the mixture starts to mix together.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the processor using a spatula, if needed.
  4. Add ice water as needed to make more smooth.
  5. Top with additional sliced avocados, chickpeas, and red pepper flakes, if desired.
